About the Brand
Comfort Colors pioneered garment dyeing back in 1995, when founder Barry Chouinard introduced the industry's first garment-dyed, ring-spun cotton tee. Instead of dyeing the fabric before construction, each shirt is dyed after it's sewn, giving every tee soft, natural color variation and that broken-in feel straight out of the bag. Made from 100% U.S.-grown ring-spun cotton with double-needle stitching throughout, the 1717 is built to get softer with every wash, not wear out.
Fabric
Fabric: 100% ring-spun cotton
Weight: 6.1 oz/yd²
Thread count:
- 20 singles yarn for a smooth — substantial hand-feel that holds up wash after wash
- Garment-dyed after construction for soft
- Natural color variation and a broken-in feel right out of the bag
Fits Like
Relaxed and boxy, not fitted — the 1717 has a classic unisex cut with drop shoulders, a roomy chest and torso, and a tubular (non-tapered) body that drapes naturally instead of clinging. Sizing runs generous, so it's true to size for a relaxed everyday fit, or size down if you want something closer to the body. Expect minimal shrinkage (2–3% at most) with a cold wash and low-heat dry.
Care Instructions
- Turn inside out before washing.
- Machine wash cold with similar colors and a mild detergent.
- Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals, which can strip the garment-dye finish.
- Tumble dry on low, or air dry for best results, and keep out of direct sunlight to prevent uneven fading.
- Remove promptly from the dryer to minimize wrinkles.
